Moving on to the last of the trio. Thinking out loud, it's funny that this is the first normal release Ratchet that's easily available, locally, for quite some time. Siege Ratchet was imported by Toy R Us here, at higher price point. And the only way for us to get the Galactic Odyssey Ratchet was to import from US.
Alt Mode
I'd say he is a Cybertronian truck.. Yeah let's go with that
Unlike Wheeljack, Ratchet is pure white (mixed of white plastic and translucent painted plastic), with red highlights at the front and the sides. The blue windscreen is a really nice choice.
As a theme apparently, the gun is mounted on top of the truck. Once you done tabbing the panels, the alt mode is quite solid.
Minor nitpicking. The rear could've been painted better. The lack of details at the back kind of a step backward to the effort they put on the alt mode in general.
He's a bit smaller compared to Bumblebee and Cliffjumper but not so much.
Transformation to robot mode is quite simple once you get the hang of it. One thing I noticed is that one of the thigh and crotch already yellowing right out of the box. And I get a confirmation by a friend that it's the same for his copy. Will all the other white-plastic parts suffer the same fate?
As far as his design is concern, I got a vibe G1 mixed with WFC/FOC from the figure. The deco, while minimal, is done nicely without making the figure feels plain
Just like the other 2, Ratchet also suffers from loose joints on the hips. While it is easily fixable, still...
Articulation wise, he's fun to play with, having a wide range of movement. The hollowness is quite obvious on this one, so we will see filler add on very soon.
Size wise, he's considerably bigger than Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and the other 2, just like how the character is in WFC line.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the new Bumblebee Movie releases starting with Soundwave. The design seems more mature and quite well thought off. Hopefully it'll continue this path in the future
