McFarlane Deluxe She-Spawn - Pictorial Review

End of long holiday, business as usual.

Bought her for quite some time already but only had a chance to take pictures and reviewing her. No doubt, one of the most anticipated McFarlane releases recently

She-Spawn release as a Deluxe, with 2 assault rifles, sniper rifle, sword, axe and alternate hand (well, and the standard base)

Figure wise, she looks awesome. The detailing, head to toe is impressive. That's the first impression I got when I took her out of the tray.

Then, felt annoyed when I try to get her to stand (without using the base). Stability and ability to stand are 2 things that McFarlane should really pay attention too. I get that the base is included but you shouldn't need it to just get the figure to do normal stances.

The hair size and weight does affect her stability so you need to carefully angled it. The detailing on her body, especially the spikes and bullet belts are nicely done and clean.

Articulation wise, I think it's sufficient to get her into nice poses. The hair does interfere with the head's range but it's not too bad

Accessories

Weapon wise, as expected, are made out of soft plastics. For the sword, due to the size, it doesn't have any issue of bending. The detailing is good and She-Spawn can grip it fine

The long axe is another story. Due to its size and length, it suffer the same issue of bending as many of McFarlane's weapons.

The detailing is also nicely done but to some, this is quite an eyesore. Some might claim this issue can be fixed using hot-then-cold water but I think the effect is temporary.

The rifles's gun metal effect are nicely done, with red highlight matching her suit's color.

Again, she doesn't have any issue holding onto them.

The chain is quite poorly executed. While it's great that McFarlane finally use real chain instead of the rubber/soft plastics, it could be better to have the chain latching properly on the riffle.

Comparison

Size wise, she is roughly the same size as MK11 Spawn. Given that MK11 Spawn is a bit short compared to other version of Spawn, I think She-Spawn size is just nice.

The overall red and black is quite different between these 2 where MK11 Spawn is darker red and grey-ish black.

I saw some people complaint about She-Spawn being a deluxe release and they don't want to pay for the weapons. While I have mixed feeling about the soft plastic used, I really like the weapons on her, which can also be used for other McFarlane figures.

However, if that's the intention of McFarlane (to bundle the weapons together that can be used for other figures), it might not be fair for those who don't want it. Or will She-Spawn be released as normal release later?
