Generations Calvin Johnson Exclusive IDW Megatron - Pictorial Review

First of all, I would like to say that there's not much info on this variant so even my post's title is likely to be wrong. Pictures of this figure surfaced on the internet months ago bearing that name and that's it, nothing else known about it (at least not to my recollection)

Did some googling about Calvin Johnson, he's actually an American football wide receiver for the Detroit Lions of the NFL, nicknamed 'Megatron'. I'm really interested to know how Hasbro will release this

Not much I can tell (since I know sooo little about him) and this will be a short review since the mold has been reviewed here

Generations IDW Deluxe Megatron

Alt Mode

I only got the figure itself with a miniature football, without any instruction sheet or anything

The footbal is made out of hard rubber with NIKE tick on one side of the ball next to the seam and a Decepticon insignia on the other

Megatron comes in purple and silver color (with red cockpits) and a translucent purple with grid design on the wings

Here's Calvin Johnson Megatron, in vibrant purple. However, despite the nice paint app, the grey parts are still a let down

One thing though, I still can't find out where does the football goes, aside attached to the back of his hand.

Surprised though, as this variant has a better joint quality than IDW Megatron

Somehow, he resembles Galvatron...I wish

Put aside the 'Calvin Johnson Exclusive'  or the miniature football, Hasbro did well on the paint job and he looks awesome. Will surely get him, sooner or later (but I opt for the former)

    2. For me, I'll collect every mold and its variant as long as the mold was intended for CHRUGs release initially. But I won't get any repaints from other lines like Universe Blades, etc
