Let's continue with this Galaxy Force/Cybertron craze, next with Legacy United Deluxe Hot Shot, courtesy of Hasbro Malaysia and Hasbro Singapore.
Let me be frank. I didn't even bat an eye when he was first revealed. And now I am fairly surprised. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
In Package
Well....nothing much to say when you've reviewed the packaging dozens of time. But the artwork on the front is nice and on the back it shows his 17 steps transformation count.
Alt Mode
If this does not remind you of the original Hot Shot, I don't know what will. So far, of all the Galaxy Force releases, him, Override, Metroplex and Starscream are original molds. which can be consider high, just like Armada releases. It seems Hasbro really prioritize these 2 reboot lines
Clean and sleek. The colors are generally right, aside from the unpainted rims. The cyber key attached on top at the back side, just like the original, without the gimmick (you can pull out the side wings manually).
The back is not really clean but not as bad as some releases. The alt mode are overall solid and rolls perfectly.
In alt mode, the size is roughly the same, which is weird as they're of different classes.
Robot Mode
Well what do you know, he still looks cool, as much as he was back in the Galaxy Force day. He comes with 2 accessories, his blaster and his cyber key.
Transformation wise, as per advertise, is quite simple, just like the original version.
One weird choice (considering the resemblance with the original version) is using solid red plastic as oppose to translucent yellow (just like his blaster)
Not kibble free? I'll let it slide considering that's how he was originally designed.
Perfectly painted, no smudge. The head sculpt, the finishing, all are really good. The sidearm kibbles uses 5mm peg and can be taken off.

Articulation wise, there are slight improvement compared to the original. Ankle tilt and rockers, wider hip and outward hands movement.

A small voyager or big deluxe?
The Autobots/Cybertron lineup from my Legacy Galaxy Force universe.
My gripe? It's easy and minor. The shoulder's placement and hand's articulation. Aside from that, he's a good figure, and a really cool-looking one. Embodied the Galaxy Force spirit well, despite not having functional cyber key gimmick.
So far I love what Hasbro is doing with the new Armada and Galaxy Force lineups. Just made me wonder, where's the love for Energon?
Hot Shot from Transformers Legacy United surprised me in all the right ways. From the moment I unboxed him, I was impressed by the homage to his original design. The transformation, though simple, retains that classic feel from the Galaxy Force days. In robot mode, he looks sharp with no paint flaws and excellent articulation, including ankle tilts and wider hip movements that enhance poseability. Despite minor gripes with shoulder placement, Hot Shot embodies the essence of Galaxy Force with style. Overall, he's a solid addition to any collection, blending nostalgia with modern design seamlessly.
ReplyDeleteto answer why there is no love for Energon, I believe that it's because everybody hated the show and is considered the worst show of the franchise. Apparently they released core Megatron to see if people would want more energon toys and if the reviews for him are good they might release more toys in the future. also, thanks for the review.
