Fansproject LER-01 Columpio w/ Drepan - Pictorial Review

Last time it was about combiners but 2014, the attention turns to another nostalgic and group, the Dinobots. Despite the hype of Age Of Extinction version of the Dinobots seems to end a bit prematurely, 3rd Party companies are now on a race. I've discussed about the Masterpiece-scale Dinobots here, now is the time for CHURG-size Dinobots.

The first 3rd Party CHURG-sized Dinobots released was Planet X Caelus, to compliment War For Cybertron/Fall Of Cybertron line. Now, it's time for an offering by Fansproject, the first of their Lost Exo Realm (LER) line, Columpio (Not-Sludge) w/ Drepan

Sludge, one of the first 3 Dinobots to be created alongside Grimlock and Slag on the G1 episode, S.O.S Dinobots. Despite being a powerful adversary, Sludge level of stupidity is his biggest weakness. Easily manipulated, Megatron managed to turn him against Optimus Prime in the episode War of the Dinobots.

Transformers Expo Japan Exclusive Evasion Nemesis Prime - Pictorial Review

This review is about a character that appeared in almost every Transformers toylines post 2000 era, Nemesis Prime. In general, Nemesis Prime is an evil clone with personalities and moral the exact opposite of the Autobots Leader, Optimus Prime.

In almost every toyline since 2003, there's a Red, Black and Teal version of Optimus Prime, dubbed Nemesis Prime. However, the name often mistakenly used to also address Scourge that made his debut in Robot In Disguise (2001) or Black Convoy (merely a black Optimus Prime). The name Nemesis Prime is also referring to the corrupted Dead Universe version of Nova Prime in IDW Continuity.

Nemesis Prime was featured in an episode of Transformers:Prime series as a MECH-built copy of Optimus Prime controlled by Silas. Bringing Nemesis Prime to life includes a complete scan Optimus Prime's body, analysis of Breakdown's body components and the installation of Starscream's T-Cog.

This exclusive repaint of Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, Evasion Nemesis Prime was made available during Transformers Expo Japan in August 2014 together with Nemesis Grimlock, a Black-Purple-Teal repaint of AoE Voyager Grimlock. Both were sold at around 5000 Yen.

Mastermind Creations [Reformatted] Feral Rex - Pictorial Review

Predaking, the beast of all combiners. As opposed to decreasing in intelligence experienced by most of other combiners, Predaking somehow manages to combine all the personalities of the components into one perfect, animalistic hunter.

Pic Credit : Web

So, here it is, the long awaited Mastermind Creations Feral Rex, completed. And it's impressive. First thing first, presenting the Feral Cons!

Feral Cons in Alt Mode

Feral Cons is robot mode

There's a certain degree of satisfaction whenever a combiner team is complete. Staring at the images, the uniformity of the design of all members is awesome.

Mastermind Creations R-06 Tigris - Pictorial Review

It seems like forever since Talon was teased and finally the [core members of] Feral Cons are complete, with the release of R-06 Tigris

Review of TFC version of Rampage can be found here.

Front View

Considering he's the fifth, there's not much to say about the box except that it follows the design of the rest of Feral Cons.

Re-design

Since I began, never really bothered about the layout but I think I should do something with the layout of the site. So, fiddle around with the design and though it's not yet final, kind of satisfied with the result. Special thanks to Randy Lajara for giving me tips on the design

Playing around with few pictures that I've taken for an idea of logo or background (or something) and these are what I have right now

Mastermind Creations R08D Azalea Stealth Assassin - Pictorial Review

Mastermind Creations Azalea (Not-Arcee) was first teased back in 2013 when PlanetSteelExpress released her render along with Parapax Zinnia and later displayed at Captured Prey Third Party at Botcon 2013.

Pic Credit : MMC/TFWiki

Azalea is the 4rd version of 3rd Party release homaging G1 Arcee in Cybertronian Car mode, the first 3 being Rabid Squirrels's A.R.C, Impossible Toys' Valkyrie and iGear's Delicate Warrior. Other iteration of Arcee includes Perfect Effect's RC.

Before releasing Azalea, Mastermind Creations releases a dark color version of Azalea, dubbed R08D Azalea Stealth Assassin as Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC) 2014 Exclusive, distributed by The Falcon Hangar limited to only 500 pieces worldwide.

Warbotron WB01C Sly Strike - Pictorial Review

This review is courtesy of X2OToys

http://x2otoys.com/goods.php?id=391

Combiner, Combiner, Combiner! Yet again, this is a review of a Combiner member, the 3rd so far for his line, Warbotron WB01C-C Sly Strike (Not-Swindle).

Pic Credit : Web

One might remember this particular member of the Combaticons as being a great tactician, fearless combatant and many more...that ain't true. He's in short, a con-man. That's it. If that term never existed before, it would be created for him.

During the episode B.O.T, Bruticus (Combaticons combined) was defeated by Defensor with Swindle being the sole survivor. What he did after that was, he proceeded to sell the parts of his comrades to various buyer in which, even for Megatron that is wicked and evil, is consider wrong. Hence, a bomb was planted inside his head and given 15 hours to rebuild his fellow Combaticons

Age Of Extinction Evolution 2-pack Classics Optimus Prime - Pictorial Review

It's been 1 year and 8 months since I started this review blog and with all the support from you guys, Black-Plastic-Life finally went past 100,000 views mark with more than 14,000 views monthly. Thank you so much.

It's ironic that the first review that I posted was of Classics Optimus Prime (Voyager) back in January 2013 and my first review after the 100K achievement will be a variant of that mold, AoE Evolution 2-Pack Classics Optimus Prime.

Pic Credit : Web

Just like AoE Rollbar, I only bought the Classics version of Optimus Prime, not the set itself. This mold has been released quite a lot of time already (as Optimus Prime, Nemesis Prime and Ultra Magnus). The [official] variants  are :

- Classics Optimus Prime
- Henkei Convoy
- Henkei Crystal Convoy,
- Cloud Optimus Prime
- AoE Evolution 2-Pack

- Classics Ultra Magnus
- United Ultra Magnus

- Universe 2.0 Nemesis Prime
- United Black Optimus Prime

- Botcon 2008 Shattered Glass Optimus Prime
- Botcon 2014 Ginrai

With this new arrival, I'm close to completing this mold [yet again], just waiting for a friend to help me hunt for Transformers Cloud TF-A01 Optimus Prime.

Mastermind Creations R-02 Talon - Pictorial Review

Seems that recently, everything is about combiners, even I feel more excited whenever a combiner team member arrive. Now, for something that's been long overdue, Mastermind Creations Talon (Not-Divebomb).

G1 Divebomb's Box Art

Along with the other Predacons, Divebomb was created in 2006, given by the Quintessons as a symbol of the alliance between them and Galvatron. Forming Predaking's left arm, Divebomb is one of the deadliest predator in the sky that enjoys nothing other than destruction.

G1 Divebomb (and the rest of the Predacons) was released in 1986 in individual pack (D-75) and also in gift set (D-78) .

Generations IDW Deluxe Crosscut - Pictorial Review

Now, a release from the same wave as Windblade, Generations Crosscut. Crosscut is one of the new "original G1 characters" in Transformers universe, an ambassador to almost every world known especially earth.

Pic Credit : TFWiki

In IDW Dark Cybertron Chapter #7 The Dead Are Not Enough, Crosscut can be seen battling the Ammonites with the help of Swerve...who he confused with Rung...

G1 Crosscut was released on 2002 as e-Hobby Exclusive and sold togather in set with Road Rage. G1 Crosscut is a retool of G1 Skids and comes with a different head and hood.

Transformers Lost Age TRU Japan Exclusive Rusty Evasion Mode Optimus Prime

It's been 4 months since the launch of Age Of Extinction Toyline, but unlike the previous movie lines, I feel that AoE has a very limited offering in terms of their figures. Since May, we've seen a lot of repaints being done for these 2, Voyager Evasion Mode Optimus Prime and The Dinobots, ranging from regular Hasbro and Takara releases to Convention Exclusives.

Fans were disappointed when the first picture of Leader Class Optimus Prime for AoE surfaced, given that usually he's the best figure in the line. I was quite surprised to find out that compared to him, Voyager Evasion Mode Optimus Prime stands out more and comes out way better than the rest of the AoE figures.

Best of the bunch

Up until now, there are quite a lot of of variants for this figure starting from Hasbro Version, Takara Version, Platinum Edition (With Voyager Grimlock), Evolution 2-pack, Breakout Battle 3-pack, Autobots United 5-pack, Nemesis Prime and also, Rusty Version.

Rusty Version Optimus Prime was released as Toys "R" Us Japan Exclusive.

Age Of Extinction Platinum Edition Breakout Battle Rollbar - Pictorial Review

It's not uncommon to have a figure from a toyline to be released under different ones. Even in Transformers The Movie (TFTM) toyline, there are a lot of figures from the Unicron Trilogy being repainted and parked under that banner.

Even Universe 2.0 have a lot of non-original CHURG molds released under it. However, only Allspark Power Decepticon Fracture (Classics Mirage) and Classics Bumblebee of The Legacy of Bumblebee are the only characters that use CHURG's original mold to be released under non-CHURG toylines.

The Legacy Of Bumblebee

Allspark Power Decepticon Fracture

This year, we see another 2 sets that include CHURG's original molds. One would be AoE Evolution 2-Pack : Optimus Prime; and the other is AoE Platinum Edition Breakout Battle.

Evolution 2-Pack

Platinum Edition Breakout Battle

Just like The Legacy of Bumblebee set, I would only hunt the specific character, rather than getting the whole set. Hence for Breakout Battle, I hunt for Rollbar (and the same with Classics Optimus Prime from the 2-pack).

Generations IDW Deluxe Windblade - Pictorial Review

Now for the release that lots of fans have been looking forward to. Back in 2013, Hasbro started an initiative for fans to be involved in creating a whole new character, the "Fan-Built Bot".

There were 2 polls conducted, the first one commenced from April 18th 2013 to May 5th 2013 for fans to decide her faction, alternate mode, weapon, color scheme, and also personality; while the poll from May 10th 2013 to May 17th 2013 was conducted to select her name, gender, origin, and specialty. And all of that gave birth to Windblade.

Windblade has a four-issue miniseries, published by IDW from April to July 2014 while a second miniseries was planned under the title "Windblade Returns" which was changed back to "Transformers : Windblade"

Windblade comes from Caminus, a place whose inhabitants were cut off from Cybertron for millions of years. This change when Thunderclash came to seek help from Cityspeaker in order to aid Metroplex.

The road so far~

I'm in the middle of finishing my Generations Windblade review however still haven't finish doing her alt mode [finish the In Package and Alt Mode portions] so a few more hours delay I guess, sorry for that.

Aside from that, I'm planning to do MMC Talon [without combine mode, waiting for Tigris and do full review], maybe Age Of Extinction Rollbar from the Breakout Battle set. Was also thing whether or not I should do Age Of Extinction TRU Japan Exclusive Rusty Evasion Mode Optimus Prime and the rest of the new Generations releases (Jhiaxus, Crosscut, Nightbeat)

On separate note, quite proud of my archivement for now

Still few months till Black-Plastic-Life 2nd Anniversary. Thanks for the support

TFC Warning Line [Project Prometheus] - Pictorial Review

Time for another one! TFC has been releasing their product almost non-stop for few months now. Coming up in September is Hydrant (Not-Hot Spot) and Phobos (Not-Divebomb) on October. Wonder if we'll see a prototype of their new combiner around October or November. But first thing first, this review is about Groove of the Protectobots.

Pic Credit : TFWiki

Before we start, I must say this. Groove is a member of the Protectobots and he transform into a motorcycle which can be seen clearly from the picture above....

Despite being in the never-ending war of good and evil, Groove is one of those who hate combat or conflict. A free-spirited bot, Groove find serene in the open highway. However, Groove won't disappoint. Whenever someone needs him, be it the Autobots, the Protectobots or humans, he'll be there

Warbotron WB01B Heavy Noisy - Pictorial Review

Can't believe how late I am finishing this review, so sorry for that. The review is courtesy of X2OToys

The 2nd release from Warbotron is another component of WB01 Not-Bruticus, Heavy Noisy (Not-Brawl)

Pic Credit : TFWiki

Coming with a BOOM! Fitting his alt mode, Brawl is not someone who would sneak up on his enemy but rather they'll know his precense from miles away. Resurrected by Starscream from only his personality component doesn't mean that this particular Decepticon would bow to him. If not because of their energy absorbers taken 'hostage' by Starscream, chances are Brawl would've blown him to smithereens.

Meet the real me!

Generations Leader Class Jetfire - Pictorial Review

Now, time for another exciting official release. Just to be clear, I tried my best not to be biased in my reviews and being that my collections focused mainly on [Official] Neo-G1 figures, there's been up and down in terms of the excitement of HasTak releases. My last Deluxe wave (Scoop, Rattrap, Tankor, etc) was a big disappointment while Voyager Roadbuster is kinda great (better than Skybite). But this here, is one of the best official figures for 2014, the 2nd biggest original Neo-G1 CHURG mold after Metroplex and the first of it class in this line, Leader Class Jetfire.

Pic Credit : TFWiki
Jetfire (also known as Skyfire) first made his appearance in G1 cartoon, Fire in the Sky episode. He was a friend of Starscream from way before the war but an exploration mission gone bad causes Jetfire to be lost (presumably dead) for millions of years.

I could go on and on about him but the best thing about Jetfire is his G1 toy. Not all original G1 toys originated from HasTak. Jetfire is one of the example, taken from Macross Super Valkyrie VF-1S of Takatoku Toys. And perhaps due to legal reasons, Jetfire in the animation was changed to not resemble his G1 toy.

TFC Aethon [Project Ares] - Pictorial Review

Now, for something that's I've been waiting for. The 4th component of Ares, Aethon (Not-Tantrm)! Can't believe that Ares is almost complete, with Not-Divebomb coming in August/September.

Short backstory of Tantrum can be found at MMC Bovis Pictorial Review.

Fans Toys FT-04 Scoria - Pictorial Review

This review is sponsored by X2OToys

It seems that almost every year, there are mutual agreements between Hasbro/Takara and 3rd Party companies in terms of what to present the fans with. Through Age of Extinction, Bay manages to bring the Dinobots to the mainstream viewers and fans.

At the same time, a lot of unofficial releases centered in the Dinobots, Planet-X Not-FOC Dinobots for instance. The latest are a new teaser of Not-Dinobots by Fansproject. However, before that, Fan Toys and Gigapower (not to mention Bullsfire) offered the fans Masterpiece rendition of the Dinobots to accompany official Masterpiece Grimlock. And the first to see the light of day is Fan Toys FT-04 Scoria, Not-Slag.

Pic Credit : TFWiki

One of the nastiest Dinobots out of the 5, Slag can easily be the source of stereotype surrounding the team, labeling them as disturbingly violent, mean-spirited and just a push away to become a Decepticon. Pure killing machine, Slag will engage in any battle in a blink of an eye, without caring what the outcome would be.
