Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Armada Megatron - Pictorial Review

Comes together with Generations Combiner Wars Megatron is an unexpected pair (well...not if you saw the news back then), a repaint of Megatron, Armada Megatron!

Armada Megatron is the main antagonist in the cartoon series Armada, the first installment of "Unicron Trilogy", before Energon and Cybertron. In the continuity, the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons escalated resulting both enhancing their power with the small race of Transformers called Mini-Cons. Believing that they made the conflict worse, the Mini-Cons seek help from the Autobots to escape Cybertron. The attempt almost fail due to an ambush by the Megatron and the Decepticons resulting the Mini-Cons, in their damage starship warped and crash-landed on earth.

*Please take note that I won't be going into details for this review as it's a variant of Leader Class Megatron previously reviewed.

The fourth CHRUG Leader Class figure after Jetfire (Hasbro and Takara) and Megatron, Armada Megatron comes in the same Combiner Wars box as Megartron.

Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Megatron - Pictorial Review

I was working out on the review of LG-09 Brainstorm when this arrived and the sane thing to do is to put that Brainstorm on hold and proceed with the tyrant, Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Megatron.

One of the greatest villain of all time, Megatron led the Decepticons force fighting for the control of Cybertron against the Autobots, an act that brought war upon the entire universe.

Hasbro surprised the fans with the announcement of Leader Class Megatron under the Generations Combiner Wars series. Most are skeptical while others ridiculed Hasbro's attempt to reboot the character for CHRUG line. Let us see, shall we?

Megatron comes in a big box with the same theme as the previous Combiner Wars releases. I just noticed that the word "Transformers" laid out vertically on the side resembles Age Of Extinction box design.

Generations Calvin Johnson Exclusive IDW Megatron - Pictorial Review

First of all, I would like to say that there's not much info on this variant so even my post's title is likely to be wrong. Pictures of this figure surfaced on the internet months ago bearing that name and that's it, nothing else known about it (at least not to my recollection)

Did some googling about Calvin Johnson, he's actually an American football wide receiver for the Detroit Lions of the NFL, nicknamed 'Megatron'. I'm really interested to know how Hasbro will release this

Not much I can tell (since I know sooo little about him) and this will be a short review since the mold has been reviewed here

Generations IDW Megatron - Pictorial Review

Now, let us move forward to the character whose design mesmerize the fan during his debut in the IDW The Transformers (Ongoing Series), Megatron

In the event of All Hail Megatron Series, the Autobots counter attack after their previous defeat, and manage to stop the Decepticons. Evil as he was, Megatron ordered the Decepticons to flee and let the Autobots get nuked by the human. However, distractions cost him his life and Optimus Prime landed the final blow.

Picked up by Starscream (yes, Starscream) and retreat, Megatron was put on life support and given a new body, a much powerful body.

Transformers Classics Megatron (Voyager) - Pictorial Review

Presence of Optimus Prime alone is not enough in the Transformers Universe. The far end of the equation of fair, responsible, peace loving leader, comes the cruel, saddistic, war-born tyrant, Megatron of the Decepticons

Named from the fallen one of the first 13th, Megatronus, Megatron have his own vision in leading the Cybertronian to glory. Commanding an army, they meet face-on with the Autobots, defending their own version of justice that brought Cybertron to it's death

Sure, he looks awesome and menacing

Despite of his design in animation, Megatron actually came from a somewhat sad looking toys during the diaclone era. However, taking the form of a modified Walther P38, he definately had one of the coolest alt mode in Transformers history.

He's happy to see you

As I mention earlier, his 1984 toy was sad.... I don't mean any disrespect in which I now the technology of that era and the fact that it wasn't Hasbro design to begin with but I call things as it is (by the way the design of MP-05 Masterpiece Megatron is awesome).

After his career drop dead on 1986 movie, Megatron never became a gun again. Maybe he doesn't like people pulling the trigger. So, begin Megatron's career as a tank, a small aircraft, a T-Rex, a Dragon, a slightly smaller lizard-like dragon, something-something-that-is-also-a-hand, a beetlebug-tank and many more.

So in 2006, fans rejoice on the return of Megatron as a gun again...

Or did they?
