Dungeons & Dragons Golden Archive Gelatinous Cube - Pictorial Review

Another thanks to Hasbro MY  and Hasbro SG for providing this review piece.

Now, time for a new Hasbro offering, from the newly started Dungeons & Dragons Golden Archive for the upcoming D&D movie, Honor Among Thieves.

Just a bit of a background. A Gelatinous Cube (or an athcoid) is a cube-shaped mindless, gelatinous matter that appears in countless D&D media.

In Package

The Gelatinous Cube (GC) comes in a windowless box, as per Hasbro Plastic-Free Packaging direction. The artwork is nicely done with both classic RPG vibe and board games.

At the back is the dimension of the GC, which is not obvious in this thin packaging since it is not yet assembled.

Inside, the unassembled GC is packed in 3 separate packets, with 2 panels in each packet. Also included is an instructions sheet.

Out of the package, this is what the 6 panels look like.

GC comes with 14 snap-in accessories that can be used with standard 6" figures. Material-wise, they are basically made out of the same material of other Hasbro 6" accessories.

Presenting, fully assembled GC, with all 14 accessories snapped in.

The cube itself is not a perfect cube and the panels are to be at their exact spots.

Material wise, it's quite durable as far as I can tell. Attaching them involves using mushroom pegs and after few cycles of assembling-disassembling, no stress mark can be found.

Can you use GC without the accessories? Sure, but you can see the imprint of the accessories (and the pegs for them).

GC, next to a standard 6" Marvel Legends figure. Like I said, you wouldn't have guessed the size of it in package.

Aside from the snap-in accessories, GC comes with an 'invincible' stand that can be used to pose figure inside it.

One of the snap-in accessories can be taken out to put any limb of the figure through it.

Ice Make : CUBE!!

The Golden Archive is one of the 2 lines being release for D&D, the other being Classics line. While I can't be sure whether GC will appear in the movie or not, it is quite a prominent being in D&D lore itself.

The 6" compatibility of the accessories make them not limited to GC but can be used throughout the line (and across, into other 6" line).
