Transformers Studio Series Deluxe Class Transformers: Devastation Optimus Prime

The final review for this round, the first release for under Transformers: Devastation, Deluxe Class Optimus Prime, courtesy of Hasbro Malaysia and Hasbro Singapore.

Let's get started

In Package

A look at the figure in-package, highlighting the striking cel-shaded design. The vibrant box art featuring Transformers: Devastation branding feels nostalgic and modern at once, 2015 was a decade ago.

The back of the packaging delivers key information: 21-step transformation, dual-mode showcase, and accessories included.

Alt Mode

Optimus Prime's truck mode captures the classic G1 silhouette with the cel-shading paint bringing a game-accurate twist. The proportions are solid, and the transformation is clean with minimal kibble showing.

Everything folds in neatly, with no loose parts or awkward bulges. A somewhat-clean alt mode for a Deluxe class figure. However the thigh-covering panels make the alt mode look hollow

Alt mode with accessories mounted. The axe can peg onto the trailer section, though it does disrupt the streamlined look a bit. Still, it offers good weapon storage without needing extra compartments.

Compared to SS TFOne Optimus Prime. I kind of wish that it would be bigger, considering how small he is compared to another deluxe figure.

Robot Mode

Optimus Prime stands tall in robot mode. The paintwork stands out — bright reds, royal blues, and carefully applied cel-shaded accents capture the visual punch of the Devastation game.

Feels like he is lifted straight from the game’s animations.

A clean rear profile. Transformation panels fold in neatly, maintaining balance without excessive backpack bulk. Simple and effective.

Not a fan of the solid yellow and motion-sculpt axe. The tolerance seems tight and balanced, which helps with pose stability.

The matrix is very...very disappointing.... Some color wouldn't hurt

A ready-for-battle posture. Captures Optimus’s personality perfectly. It also showcases the range of the hips, knees and ankles.

The dynamic range, for a deluxe. But some angles highlight too much the hollow forearms (or the inner thighs)

In robot mode, these 2 don't differ too much. But height and bulk, TFOne wins.

This Studio Series Deluxe Devastation Optimus Prime is a strong tribute to both G1 roots and PlatinumGames' Transformers: Devastation. The cel-shaded deco gives it a unique shelf presence, and despite being a Deluxe figure, the articulation and transformation engineering are top-tier. Perfect for game fans, animation lovers, and G1 collectors alike.

And I might be alone on this. He is a nice replacement for Robot Master G1 Optimus Prime
